Synopsis:
Sometimes,
the most courageous acts aren’t loud and sensational. Bravery can simply be
following through with what you think is right, even if it’s hard to do.
After the breakdown of her marriage,
Grace is just starting to find her feet again. She has moved into a beautiful
cottage, and she is beginning to enjoy her new-found independence. However, her
world is soon turned upside down by a shocking discovery that makes her feel as
though she only has one option: she has to run. In doing so, she is reminded
that fleeing doesn’t make her weak. In fact, she proves to herself that she is
stronger than she ever imagined.
Max is struggling to settle in the
land that he now calls home. He turns to his new friend, Alistair, for support
and is offered a job that opens his eyes to secrets that have been buried for
centuries. When the safety of his new home is threatened, Max must work quickly
to harness the information he has found so that he can protect those he loves.
But he starts to wonder - does Alistair have his own hidden agenda?
Review:
Although
this book could be read as stand-alone novel, I would highly recommend you read
Beneath the Starless Sky first. It sets the story up for the second book and
introduces the main characters and some of their background story.
Onto
Eternal Moonlight now and I can say I loved it as much as the first book. The
story takes up exactly where it should and sets Max and Grace on their onward
journey of growth and discovery. Not always happy one but both have to learn
how to turn bad into positive and both need to prove to themselves that they
are stronger than the opposition.
Max
is in Nexus re-united with his mother, whom he thought dead from a very young
age. Whilst building a relationship with Delilah, he also needs to learn more
about the place he now calls home. He soon realises the vast differences
between the surface, where Ambers are overpowered by Greys and Nexus, where
there is no ruler and everyone can have their say. His mission quickly turns
into helping Nexus to keep Greys away.
Grace
on the other hand has to run. From her life, work and mainly from her soon to
be ex-husband. What she does not really account for is that the most dangerous
person soon to be on her heels is her father Gregor. She knows the only place
she will be safe is Nexus, but it is not just her life she has to sort out now.
I
loved reading more about the Max and Grace and the new characters in this book –
Alistair, Thomas and Joshua to name a few. Fabulous book and quite good timing
reading this with everything that is going on in our own world today.
Thank
you very much to TBConFB and the author for this book.
